BS 7671:2018 Amendment 3 2024 Requirements for Electrical Installations.

Amendment 3 to the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations was published on the 31st of July 2024 and is to be implemented immediately.

Amendment 3 2024 Changes

BS7671 Amendment 3 key changes include:

  • Definition: Bidirectional protective device
  • Definition: Unidirectional protective device
  • Regulation: 530.3.201

Amendment 3 of BS 7671 is published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, London, United Kingdom in agreement with BSI.

Guidance on EICR coding for Unidirectional RCD’s (single direction) can be found in the BS7671 WRAG guidance.

Electrical Safety Fist have published a BS7671 WRAG Guidance for coding existing electrical installations for EICR’s and Amendment 3.

The Wiring Regulations Advisory Group (WRAG) is hosted by Electrical Safety First, the resulting guidance is set out in a questions and answers format.
