Electricity Safety Recall

Smart Electricity Meter Safety Recall

The Office for Product Safety and Standards have issued a safety product recall for EDMI Atlas Mk7CD Smart Electricity Meters.

Date: 24th March 2025
Risk Type: Fire and Electric Shock
Sales Period: October 2022 to 3rd October 2024

Risk Description: The effected units present a risk of electric shock and/or fire as, in certain circumstances, the neutral weld may fail, causing the copper busbar to come away from the terminal block.

Further Risk Details: In installations where neutral wiring is routed through the meter point, a partial or complete loss of continuity in the neutral circuit may occur. This could result in elevated voltage on the accessible conductive parts on the product, or in cases of high resistance overheating.

Effected Units: Serial numbers from 251792525 through to 253598310.

Product Description: The Mk7C is a single phase meter with an integrated 100A UC3 compliant relay which allows disconnection and reconnection of electrical services remotely. – Source: EDMI
